Welcome to the Christian Praise Music site
Welcome to the land of very ancient songs by Fred Schwenk. These songs were written and recorded live - first take - in the late 80's and early 90's. The quality is fair to poor. They are here because they are a part of my soul and I only wrote them to honor Jesus and hopefully bless His people. So . . . hopefully you will be blessed!
This is the first song I ever wrote for the Lord. It was written around 1984 and was a "spur of the moment" idea laid down one evening while I was spending time alone with Him.
This is an earlier version of the song now included in the Warrior Praise collection. Early attempt to merge Christian faith with secular rock. Full out rock shot at drug abuse, etc . . . I wrote this song because I heard a great country tune about Hank Williams and thought Jesus should have a better song about Him! Tells about the battle Jesus fought and how He so awesomely won! When I was betrayed by a very close friend, these words just sort of came to my heart . . . Of course, the same is true for me and . . . for you! A very early song about me, and anyone who has left a life headed toward destruction and returned to a Loving and Kind Father! For all of us who are in a rut. The Kingdom of Jesus is Upside Down This song tells of the way He sees things as opposed to the way this world does. Aren't you glad? Are you ready to drink? Better think twice! The Spirit of the Prophet! What a guy, but he still shook with terror when he thought he was the only believer left. My heart's desire is to be like Him. But it comes at a cost, and when you think of it, why not? It cost Him everything! Bluesy way of reminding us that prayer is essential This is the original form of the Warrior Praise tune. Got a major rewrite in 2000. Jesus wants us all to have a friend or two whom we can count on. Hope you do. If you don't, pray and ask. This is what it is all about. We can't always see the answer but He is there! Trust in Him This is the
lyric version of the Warrior Praise instrumental Sometimes there is just too much junk in our lives to ever get anywhere. This song challenges us to drop the junk and get with the program I saw a vision of Jesus in the clouds while listening to this song When I used to teach kids, I would ask them what they thought might happen if they weren't around. The truth is that the entire shape of the world would change if any one of us were not here. You've come a
long way Not just my
soul He's working in
you White Christian Rap (sorry) Now is the time to get it right. We don't have assurance of anything but right now, so let's get it going! Wrote this about my oldest brother Steve, who passed away in 2005. I loved him and love him. Jesus was his only way of survival as long as he made it. He died 20 years before his time. He was a genius and a very cool guy and friend to many. I miss him!! Very old praise song, recorded live at church. My brother-in-law made me sing this song for his Baptist Pastor once a long time ago. The Pastor cried when I was done. He had such a sweet heart for Jesus and saving souls! Can you feel it? The time of the gentiles is closing and Jesus will be coming back to straighten things out! I am excited! Right after he does what I mentioned just above, He will have is all over for dinner! There are more,
but I don't have them recorded. Hope you enjoyed this. If so write
me a note
